Ubuntu 9.10 releasing today!

October 29th, 2009

Get it while it’s hot. I’ve been running the pre-release of 9.10 for weeks now and it’s arguably the best, most integrated Linux desktop experience ever. I’ve really enjoyed using it, even when certain things have broken along the development path. :) That’s what I get for being an early adopter though.

Home email server is back!

March 29th, 2009

Yay, just a quickie…my home email server based on Ubuntu Linux, Postfix and Dovecot, is back! It’s all nice and secure in that it only use transports via TLS…no clear text allowed. It’s great to have it back up. Next thing to investigate is how to setup graylisting with Postfix to help Spam Assassin get even better. I’ve been getting a lot of spam email.

Ubuntu Linux 8.04

March 27th, 2008

I just wanted to get this out into the blogosphere. Ubuntu 8.04 [beta no-less] is already solid. The upgrade from 7.10 went without a hitch and the polish is amazing. This release is really giving Mac OS X Leopard (which I also run on a daily basis) quite a run for it’s money, and it’s free! :) Way to go Ubuntu team, very nice work (and the whole Linux community as well).
